Stripes Magazine

Stripes Magazine is a monthly publication which attempts to elucidate the fullness of queer culture by surveying different perspectives and subcultures within the larger spectrum through representative authorship. The name “Stripes” has three meanings in relation to the overall concept; the first is its relationship to the visual device of an equal sign, which visually creates two parallel stripes and is used throughout the publication in places like folios and even its underlying grid system. “Stripes” also refers to the idea of earning your stripes, in this case through the experiences of others, and the last and most literal meaning stems from the stripes of the Pride flag. The magazine uses a different color palette for each article to represent the identity or tone of the author and the concept.
